Shoreham U18 1-2 Three Bridges U18

A hard fought game sees Bridges U18s through to the Quarter Final of the Sussex County Cup

Having had this original home fixture postponed twice due to the weather, it got reversed and finally took place at Middle Road.

Bridges started with three up front which kept the Shoreham defence busy, but they cleared well on the few occasions they were called in to play. Tim cook had a good shot on 10 minutes which was spilled by Luke Marsh in the Shoreham goal and Sam Jobbins couldn't quite connect with the ball to score. 20 minutes in and Shoreham came close with a shot from Alfie Bunker but he could not find the net. There was very little between the two teams thereon until the 40th minute when a free kick awarded to Shoreham was badly cleared by Bridges and the ball dropped to Alec Scott to give Shoreham the lead.

Bridges came out strong in the second half and equalised just two minutes into the half with an absolute belter from TIM COOK from about 25 yards into the top corner. Two minutes later Christian Tiley had a decent effort saved off the line. On 60 minutes, Bridges took the lead when CHANDLER O'DWYER got down low to meet the cross and head the ball into the net. Shoreham had a few efforts which came to nothing and did not really test Billy Irving in the Bridges goal most of the half and Tom Hughes in the Bridges midfield saw a good shot go just over the bar.

A great win for the lads who probably didn't play their best but did enough and now face Pagham away in the Quarter Finals on 11th December.
