1st beat Peacehaven & Telscombe 1 - 0
Bridges were made to work hard for victory against a well organised and resolute Peacehaven side, who had themselves been promotion candidates earlier in the season. Eventually a single goal proved enough to keep Bridges' promotion hopes very much alive, but chances were limited in a first half where the main danger to the home side came from excellent long throw-ins by Frazer Massen.
Connor French was possibly the unluckiest player on the pitch as he was denied four times in the first half alone, the first being after just four minutes when a lovely ball by Liam Collins down the right found French, who sold two defenders but saw his angled shot blocked.
Keeper Lawrence Sanded saved a couple more efforts from French, who then played a delightful through ball which ended with the brave Sanded smothering efforts from both George Gaskin and the excellent Brannon O'Neill.
In the last moments of the first half, another quick free kick by Collins ended with French's cracking effort being pushed onto the bar by Sanded and away for a corner.
Gaskin opened the second half with a decent snap shot, and Bridges took control of proceedings with an O'Neill corner ending with a French header that was pushed away. Marcus Allen cleared off the line as Nathan Crabb and O'Neill threatened, and a Lee Hall corner ended with a header by Nathan Koo-Boothe that thundered against the crossbar.
O'Neill also struck the woodwork and Gaskin missed a good chance before the all important goal arrived in the 63rd minute. O'Neill's delivery from deep into the box encouraged Jensen Grant to head goalwards and GEORGE GASKIN made certain from almost on the line.
Another Grant flick-on almost produced a goal for the determined French, and in the 83rd minute another Connor French goal was judged to be off-side.
There was a moment of panic seven minutes into the 10 added minutes (it's anyone guess where they came from!) when a cracking volley by Ellis Cowd was punched away superbly by a generally untroubled Kieron Thorp.
