Bridges go second
Aided by a couple of other unexpected results, Bridges moved into second place in the table with a comfortable win at Lancing. The visitors could hardly have asked for a better start as they took the lead after just two minutes. A corner by Brannon O'Neill was nudged on by Jamie Crellin and Bradley Peters before George Gaskin headed home.
Connor French had a good effort pushed wide, but despite dominating the possession, Bridges failed to land a killer punch again in the first half. O'Neill and Lee Hall were running the midfield, but Bridges couldn't seem to find enough to seriously test Lancing keeper Tyler D'Cruz.
It could have proved disastrous too as four minutes into the second half a low drive by ALEX FAIR found the bottom corner for an unexpected equaliser. It seemed to regenerate Bridges though and after 55 minutes Peters lobbed the ball forward for FRENCH, whose shot crashed against the crossbar but came back down over the line, the Assistant Referee being superbly placed to advise the referee accordingly.
Six minutes later the excellent FRENCH broke clear again and drove home forcefully, but sadly a hat trick wasn't on the cards as he left early through injury.
Chances continued to come and D'Cruz made one special save to keep out a fierce effort from O'Neill. Nathan Crabb also came close before Bridges added a fourth eight minutes from time. Peters found himself on the right wing and crossed to the near post for substitute Mitchell Casselman to rifle home. Casselman might well have had another as he latched onto a glorious pass by Hall, but his effort was blocked.
