1st beat Hassocks 4 - 1
Bridges win again!
Bridges took their League goals tally to 50 with this victory, but incredibly 12 of those goals have come in their last three games.
Both sides had chances in the opening exchanges, George Gaskin having a header blocked following a fine cross by Darryl Siaw, who also forced Nathan Stroomberg to a good low save. Kieron Thorp meanwhile had to deal with two long range strikes by Lewis Westlake.
It was hardly a surprise therefore when a goal arrived after just 6 minutes, George Gaskin this time seeing his header planted firmly into the Hassocks net and just 6 minutes later Jensen Grantshowed that he could also score with his head as he met Liam Collins' cross.
Many amongst the crowd thought a cricket score was on the cards when George Gaskin netted again after 23 minutes as he collected the rebound after Ben Bacon's shot had been blocked, and well it might have been when Bacon put the ball through after 33 minutes for Gaskin to look favourite for a hat trick on his home debut, but Stroomberg pushed the ball away well.
It seemed to give the visitors a bit of a boost and a minute before half time, they broke down the right flank with Jack Wilkins providing the cross for a simple tap in for former Bridges favourite Michael Death to reduce the arrears.
Bridges didn't look anywhere near as positive in the second half and Hassocks belied their lowly League position by attacking in numbers but without much of an end product. Spencer Slaughter tested Thorp with a long range effort and five minutes from time the Bridges keeper had to tip over a good volley from Jake Lindsey.
However, in added time Gaskin set up John Lansdale for a nice low finish, and Lansdale might well have had another but failed to connect with Nathan Crabb's low cross.
