In addition to Martin Dynan taking over as First Team Manager, we can now also confirm changes to both the U18s and U23s mangement this season.
After dedicating 14 years as a youth team manager, Chris Irving has stood down as U18s manager but will remain as the Club's Welfare Officer. Last year's assistant manager, Tom Hayward, will remain a manager of the U18s (in his second year) and work alongside newly-appointed Manager, Michael Clarke. The team will remain in the Isthmian Youth League - Southern Division.
Last year's U21s who played in the Southern Combination League South Division will play as U23s in the Bostik League this year. Last year's manager, Richard Midadje, will also remain at the club in the capacity of youth team manager and coach for the various youth teams that he manages alongside Simon Rollings.
The new U23s manager this season will be highly experienced UEFA B Licence Holder Oliver Saunders who also works part-time in Southampton's Academy. Oliver has also worked at Leyton Orient, Bournemouth and Exeter City academies as well as in the New York Redbulls youth programme. Oliver has worked previously as assistant to First Team Coach, Marc Wardley, at Farnborough on the college programme and as a BTEC tutor.
Oliver has also acquired the FA Youth Award as well as a degree in Sport & Exercise Science at the University of Bath.
Both managers are known well to Martin Dynan and Marc Wardley and the team will work closely together. We are looking forward to working with these two new experienced managers and believe they will be a great addition to the management structure.
Trials for both teams will take place on Saturday, 26th May from 10:30 am-12:30 pm and again on Friday, 1st June from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Any new and existing players interested in trialling for either of these teams are welcome and should arrive at the Club at least 15 minutes before the session start times to register.
